I can't say i'm looking forward to this game as Basile's choices will be ridicolous as allways, but i still hope we win.

Basile MUST call up Garay, Samuel, Licha Lopez, Denis.
And he MUST leave out Gago, Roman, Heinze, Saviola, Pato, Gutierrez.

I would try something like this:
--------------Carizzo--------------
Zanetti--Milito--Demichelis---Garay
------------Mascherano-------------
Messi---------Lucho-----------Tevez
-------Aguero-------???????--------

The backline is solid so far, but i would still bring on Garay and Samuel. Both are in GREAT form. Samuel looks like in his Roma days.
Mascherano is probably the only consistant liverpool player and he can handle the DM allone. If not Lucho will drop back a little bit and can help him.
Messi and Tevez would play behind the strikers, where they are the most dangerous.

not to be a dick or anything, but Lucho at CAM? Get real!

Garay is not a fullback and on the left end he won't do any better than Heinze (at least Heinze has experience there), you've also switched Milito and Demichelis' preferred positions.

Sorry, i confused Lucho with Belluschi.
Garay won't do worse than Heinze, who isn't even a starter for his club.

Belluschi's natural position is out wide, not CAM. He can add pace to the front, but him and Messi run similar routes and will compete against each other for space.

I really like Belluschi too, but at the current time I do not see a spot for him on the starting lineup. Too many adjustments necessary. Strictly speaking, Roman is a more dedicated CAM.

well, roman isn't even playing for the club. Calling up players who doesn't even play is maybe the most stupid thing a NT coach can do + The team is playing better without him.

Maybe, but the NT ain't gonna play any better without Roman.

Just name a CAM that had done better with the NT than Roman.

It doesn't matter if Roman gets club games or not, he's still the best option we have.

Roman's maybe not playing for his club, but as rio posted, it was not because of his performance or etc, but because of something else. And yeah, he's still the best is his position in the NT.

Carizzo was not a bad option progott, but i think Basile will still prefer pato rather than Carizzo. Honestly Progott, i like Ustari more.

yeah i know Pato isn't doing bad. I only chose carizzo bercause i think it's about time for a change. I would also pick Ustari over Cariozzo, but i think he doesn't play for Getafe, does he?
Roman should be out!

Our line up's for the games in NOV. COL will deffffff be a hard fought game. They gave ARG trouble in COPA America.

Crespo recalled to Argentina squad for qualifiers

BUENOS AIRES, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Striker Hernan Crespo has been recalled by Argentina for this month's World Cup qualifiers at home to Bolivia and away to Colombia.

Crespo, who missed the opening ties against Chile and Venezuela last month because he was not match fit, was among 17 foreign-based players named by coach Alfio Basile for the matches.
The Inter Milan player, who has 35 goals from 64 appearances, last played for his country in the Copa America match against Colombia in July, where he sprained a thigh muscle as he scored from a penalty.
Juan Roman Riquelme, who remains a key part of Basile's plans despite being shunted to the reserves at Villarreal, was also included.
Argentina have a maximum six points from two games. They face Bolivia in Buenos Aires on Nov. 17 and visit Colombia in Bogota three days later.
The remainder of the squad will be made up of home-based players who will be named next week.
Goalkeeper: Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe)
Defenders: Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan), Nicolas Burdisso (Inter Milan), Martin Demichelis (Bayern Munich), Gabriel Milito (Barcelona), Gabriel Heinze (Real Madrid), Fabricio Coloccini (Deportivo Coruna)
Midfielders: Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan), Fernando Gago (Real Madrid), Maximiliano Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid), Javier Mascherano (Liverpool), Juan Roman Riquelme (Villarreal), Federico Insua (America-Mexico)
Forwards: Hernan Crespo (Inter Milan), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Carlos Tevez (Manchester United)

I was just on the InterMilan website and it says that Crespo has only 4 appearances this year. Why the heck is being called? If he's been injured he can't possibly be match fit.

As an aside, a new golden age of argentine nt football is starting. With rooney's latest injury, Tevez has been set up to be the go-to man. Messi is increasingly becoming the key Barcelona player, and now Roman&Kun in A.M. Beside so many key player at Inter.

Seems like once South America rolls around, the NT will have some of the most famous players in the world on the squad. Christ but they should intimidate the other teams over the course of the next 3 years !

It's cool to try out things, but at the moment, the experiements had not worked out for us.
Crespo is back because we need results. These are not everyday after school specials. These are WC qualifiers, we need to maintain our position.
