As an Australian fan I don't think you guys will lose (re: your previous post) as the Australian squad is pretty light on for quality strikers. I will be attending the game and I hope it will be a good one. Am disappointed that Riquelme (as I'm a big fan) isn't playing but its a good squad otherwise.

without crespo there's no target person. Australians are sometimes more physical than norway...

cata diaz isn't much of a loss on defense, but the lack of younger defender presence is still an unsolved problem. Demichelis is cool, but our problem is the fullbacks aging and not ideal.

there's also serious problems with playmaker. Last time there was at least Maxi, now we don't even have that luxury.

If Basile's list looked somewhat promising a week ago, it certainly isn't the case anymore.

i think, gago and mascherano will be playing in the midfield. And messi, will go messing around up front. maybe tevez will play ? i reckon.

I hope he starts both. Been saying this for a long time, the 2 compliment each other. Mascher can become more reliable in disruption and defense with Gago assisting and covering for him, and Gago can be more focused on distributions if Mascher shoulders defensive duty for him.

Given that will drop our offensive formation to 4 instead of 5, the fact is, we were using cambiasso anyway, right? And having a stronger holding midfield and deep laying playmaker positions, we can free our fullbacks to become more aggressive elements and add width and routes to our offense too.

It's necessary to hope...

Rio,
Just changing subject for a minute.
Do you think we will win when we face Chile in October. I am concern because Bielsa is coaching Chile now. Thanks for your response

I don't think Bielsa will have an easy campaign. For instance, Chile will be missing quite a few players including at least 3 regulars due to the FIFA ban. Haven said that, they do have some talented youngsters coming up.
Also, there are political and cultural differences between the 2 countries, so for Bielsa, despite the strong backing from the Chilean football federation, some pressure will be inevitable.

Bielsa hasn't coached for 3 years. So it's hard to predict what he will do. If Bielsa continues focusing on long lobs, I can see Basile having problems against him. From what we've seen, Basile's 4-3-1-2 has weaknesses against the european style, physical, defensive routine that relies on counter attacks. And Bielsa is probably one of the best south american coach of that school.
